Codeinefree and Cookies

Postby mark » Sat May 26, 2012 8:28 am

A new directive has come into force requiring people to opt-in to cookies.

Typically, a cookie is a small piece of information that is stored on your computer to record things like browsing preferences. For example, a cookie is used on the main page to store your preference on how you want the page displayed.

The thing is, if I put a pop-up asking for consent so store cookies and you answered "No" - how would I record your preference? I would have to use a cookie and you just said no!

Codeinefree only uses cookies that are required for proper operation of the site and forums. We do not pass on any information to third parties Under Any Circumstances wether it be cookies, email addresses, names or anything. We don't share information.

The amount of work that is required to remove cookie usage from the site just isn't worth it for a poorly though out ill concieved law. It's easier to move the site from our London Datacenter to Los Angeles where our backup's are.

I'm sorry but I don't give advice by pm. Sorry
